In your case the relays may have been installed at the factory for your vehicle and may not be necessary. I would proceed by installing the connector that mates with the plug at the rear of the vehicle and testing it for function with a circuit tester, item # 3808 if needed. Like you said, the red wire on your Nissan harness is the 12 volt power wire that will connect to the black brake controller wire.
The Nissan black wire will connect to the brake controller white wire for ground. The Nissan brown/white wire will connect to the controller's blue wire for output to the trailer brakes. And the Nissan red/green wire will connect to the controller red wire for input to the controller from the brake switch. The Nissan red/blue wire is not used.

The mounting hole pattern is different on the # T4853100 coupler versus the pattern on the # T4079200 coupler.
As you can see in the attached photos the bolt pattern is closer together on the side of the # T4079200 coupler than on the # T4853100. You may wind up with some of the mounting holes in the same place but you will need to drill new holes for some if not all of the holes.

Using your circuit tester, test the wires in the harness behind the 7-Way. That way you can determine if the power is making it that far which would indicate a problem in the connector itself. If there is no power there as well then it still could be fuses or relays. On some Nissan vehicles there is another relay that is in the in-cab fuse box. Use the owners manual to locate all of the fuses/relays related to the tow package and make sure they are present and working.

Since you have the proper relays in place, I'd check the tow package fuses and make sure they're in place and not blown. The online owner's manual I looked at didn't have a fuse diagram, so I'd recommend pulling the cover off the fuse box under the hood and checking out the fuse diagram on the lid to find the fuses for the trailer turn signals and brake lamps.
